Nuts Over Bolts

My inspiration for this card was the sketch from MFT’s card challenge blog, I just got the new Bionic Bot stamp set from My Favorite Things on Friday so the timing was perfect.

I started by stamping the heads of my chosen bots onto a spare strip of Neenah cardstock which was just the right size for the stitched square die that I wanted to use to frame them.  I usually end up with odds and ends from cutting out other stamps and I try to get the most out of every sheet of card. If it’s too small for a stamp then it can be big enough to test out colour blends.

I coloured each bot with copic markers and also coloured the area behind them.  Once that was done I die cut the squares using the MFT cross stitch border square dies and then stuck those onto an A2 card front.  I didn’t use any additional papers or layering so that the bots would stand out from the card.

Originally I stamped the sentiment onto a separate strip of card but it seemed to pull too much attention from the bots so instead I stamped it directly onto the card using versafine black onyx ink.
